Addendum to Goats.

For the person who sent me an e-mail that was "concerned" about the goats (and any others who may be worried). Please be advised, the goats are living in a backyard that is 1 acre where they are free to roam wherever they please. They have an insulated house that fits them both, equipped with several blankets for warmth, and sheltered by a deck and a wall to protect them from wind. They have a heated water bucket to keep it from freezing, they are fed hay, bread, apples, and other food everyday (although they seem to prefer dead leaves).
And they weren't given as a joke. He gave them in all seriousness. So please don't lose sleep over the goats. They're just fine. :) But thanks for your concern.

Linny, whoever was worried about the goats should know that the house they live in is insulated with two inches of insulation, has a shingled roof and water proof paint and is far more weather-proof than the shelter they had on the farm they came from.

They've now been here for almost two weeks and haven't yet explored the entire property although they're free to do so--space won't be an issue. We give them plenty of hay and change it if it gets wet. We also change their water regularly as Gene seems to like to poop in the water bowl--weird.

I check on the goats several times per day. Having worked with goats in a research setting, I can assure whoever was worried about them, that they are as healthy and content as two goats can be.
